ISRAEL Day #3: Caesarea Philippi, Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee
In late October I traveled to Israel with a group of 35 other Christians as a part of the Christian Journeys tour with the founding pastor(s) of Lifecentre Church, Barry and Joyce Boucher. I cannot even begin to put into words how much this trip has impacted my life.
Day #3 began by us traveling to a shoe factory where sandals are handmade. Great shoes, just not my size. Shoes, and meeting wonderful people behind us, we traveled to Hazor and Del Tan... Ancient civilizations and national parks where Israel's beauty is seen all around. We then traveled to Philippi. Built at one of the sources of the Jordan River, the city, originally named Panias by the Greeks, was where Jesus revealed his purpose to the Disciples, his Church, and where Peter identified Jesus as the Messiah (Mark 8: 27, Matthew 16: 13-23). The Golan Heights is a parcel of land that plays a significant role in the security of those living in the Jordan Valley and Upper Galilee. We ended the day by traveling to a factory that specializes in natural oils, spices, and creams. Definitely was cool to see how much goes into creating something that we all tend to take for granted most days.
